It gives you the\nfreedom to query data on your terms, using either serverless on-demand or provisioned\nresources\u2014at scale. Azure Synapse brings these two worlds together with a\nunified experience to ingest, prepare, manage, and serve data for immediate\nbusiness intelligence and machine learning needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Azure Synapse, data professionals can query both\nrelational and non-relational data using the familiar SQL language. This can be\ndone using either serverless on-demand queries for data exploration and ad hoc\nanalysis or provisioned resources for your most demanding data warehousing\nneeds. This may take a few minutes to complete.<\/li><li>Once completed, in the dashboard for your new Synapse environment you will be able to pause and resume the service. This will help with costing and scaling. This will create the empty tables we need for later in the lab. Be sure to set the Database to \u201ctraining_sqlpool_<em>yourname<\/em>\u201d before running the query.
