Consulting 101 – Working Remote

Working Remote

If a project allows you to work remote, it means they do not mind where you conduct your work from. You can work from your local office or you can work from home. Anywhere that has a nice stable internet connection as well as a quiet place to take a phone call will suffice. Since actual client visibility is low when you are working remote, it is best to be extra diligent on sending status updates and keeping on top of your work items. Be extra communicative to help confirm the perception that you are working and completing your tasks. Since you will not be onsite to sell yourself as much, compensate by selling good work and clean communication to make up for it.
